Vintage 1982 Specialized Sequoia Frame + Fork for sale in Furlong, PA
This is an early Tim Neenan Designed Specialized Sequoia and Frame and Fork set. This is a Extra Large frame measuring 69 CM or 27.5" (center of bottom bracket shell to top of seat post tube). bike was built in Japan around 1982- 84 ikely by either Toyo, Miki or Miyata. The Sequoia was designed as a light Touring bike making it a very versatile all around road bike. The link below to the Retrogrouch blog has some very good historical information regarding the Sequoia and other early Specialized bikes from the early years. http://bikeretrogrouch.blogspot.com/2020/01/old-is-good-specialized-sequoia.html?m=1 I rode this bike for many years but it was one or two frame sizes too large for me (at 6'-2"). When I bought it in mid 1990s it had a bent seat stay which I straightened (a decent job ) and a crimped bottom bracket- chain stay where someone had apparently had a kick stand over tightened. Despite this it was a wonderful smooth riding bike. I had to stop riding it when a hip and knee injury made getting on and off this (too large a frame) very difficult This is being sold as a candidate for restoration the frame may or may not need some further truing and straightening. The last photo is several years old and shows the bike when I was still riding it. The quality components ( Suntout Surperbe, Cyclone Mavic, Specialized etc.) were harvested to build up a smaller frame which I currently ride. This is for Local Pick Up Only. However; If you want to make your own arrangements to have it packed and shipped I will take it to a local shipper or bike shop within 10 miles of my location, Furlong Pa 18925, after I have received payment.
